Story context & connections · contains spoilers
El Molcajete releases the useful properties of ingredients through grinding. Heat, scent, nourishment and magical effects can be concentrated and blended into preparations with carefully chosen qualities.
It can combine properties that would ordinarily resist mixing, producing pastes and powders suited to a particular purpose. At a more advanced level, grinding down an enchanted object can reclaim an ingredient from its magic, though the process destroys the original object.
