The Soul tradition
A Gargoyle Soul knows the patience of a sentinel who has watched a doorway through rain, celebration, and long stretches when nothing happened at all. It is drawn to places with people to protect: a gate, a bridge, a narrow approach to a home. Stone forms, watchful awareness, and temporary stone structures make guardianship tangible. Bearers may find comfort in rooftops and thresholds, where a place can be seen as a whole.
They often remember who was absent from a gathering and who lingered after everyone else left. The Soul also contains a fierce tension between stillness and action. A good guardian must recognize the moment when holding position stops helping and someone elsewhere needs them more. In derby, Gargoyle anchors a defense, controls important approaches, and answers threats to allies with sudden ferocity.
Its ability traditions include hardening skin, taking stone form, and brief winged movement. Purple and Black are its Soul compatibility colors. They describe one Soul slot, not two abilities. The character's underlying Body remains a separate choice.
One field, not an extra body
An Oversoul occupies the Soul choice instead of an ordinary Race Soul. Multiple compatible colors still describe one slot holding one ability. Its imagery does not automatically replace the Body, add limbs, or grant all its named powers.
