Story context & connections · contains spoilers
La Sandía has psychic abilities that can include reading minds, foresight, and moving objects through thought. Like El Melón, the type can communicate in ways that do not require spoken words.
A Sandía can also develop the shared Plant gifts of photosynthesis and Stat Sight. These abilities belong to a person, alongside the psychic expressions particular to their Soul.
Walter identifies himself as 28 La Sandía when Melanie discovers her own telepathy. Their brief conversation in a checkout line becomes her first explanation of the connection between their abilities.
