THE MOMENT
"That one?" The blonde teenager pointed at Amber. She stood some distance away from the bench. She wasn't talking to Amber; but she spoke loud enough to attract her attention. Then, she turned and marched towards the seated woman.
"Hi, I'm Molly," the teenager introduced herself with a broad smile.
"Hi..Molly. What can I do for you?" Amber asked.
"Just sit there a sec," the girl replied. Her eyes flashed with gold. Then, she turned and started speaking to someone else; but no one was there.
"Alright, you guys saw the scan; what do you think?" Molly asked no one. Amber was curious and amused enough to sit quietly. She didn't get any threatening vibes from Molly. Then, Molly nodded.
"Yeah," she said to the air. "Holy Flash would heal her; but it's a persistent debuff. It might be back," Molly waited for a moment, then nodded again. "Hand of Light would keep it from coming back." Then, she burst into a sudden fit of giggles. Amber couldn't help it, the laughter was contagious. She giggled a bit under her breath while she watched the confusing performance.
"Rain of Tranquility??" Molly shook her head while laughing. "She doesn't even have an MP pool! I'm going with Hand of Light." Molly flicked her wrist up. Amber watched the teen poke and prod at the air. Then, she turned back to Amber.
"It was nice to meet you," Molly extended her hand.
"Sure, you too," Amber replied. She was aware she never gave her name and decided that she didn't need to. But, she did accept the handshake. The moment they touched, a flash of golden light made Amber blink. It was gone in an instant. Amber was curious what it was but, it didn't seem that important. Molly turned back towards the invisible stranger or strangers and resumed poking at the air.
"One down, 11 more to go...," she shook her head. "These quests are so generic," she giggled, then took on a mocking tone. "You're a healer? Heal a dozen people! What?" she asked as if she was interrupted.
"Oh, right, thanks for reminding me," Molly nodded, then turned back to Amber. Her eyes flashed gold again and she turned back. "There. What?" she asked again with a trace of annoyance. "You just saw the scan. Oh, fine. I guess it's good to make sure," she nodded and looked at Amber.
"What's your favorite number?" she asked. It was too much. Amber couldn't help but start laughing.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Playing a game," Molly replied. She pointed at the air in front of her. "And, I'm streaming it."
"Well, it looks like you're having fun," Amber smiled. Molly nodded. She waved goodbye, then turned away again. She started talking as she walked away.
"Still a Zero," she said. "Let's go find another one."
