THE MOMENT

"Has it really been that long?" Allister asked in surprise.

"At least," Ms. Sharp nodded at him. The two stood alone in a white room with glowing walls. "Narrowing down an exact birth date for Oren has proved quite difficult. But, 1800 years at the very least."

"Oh," Allister said. His voice carried obvious disappointment. "That's what I get for falling for a Sol," he shrugged while staring at the floor. "I just hope she didn't forget about me too quickly."

"Would you want to be reunited?" Ms. Sharp asked. Allister nodded at her without hesitation.

"She made me feel like I was good enough for her. Of course I want her back. But, I'm just a Zero and 1800 years is too much time. "

"Too much time?" Ms. Sharp asked. A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. "Ballisea is still searching for you, to this day," she said.

"What?" Allister shook his head as he asked the question. "That can't be true. She's a Universe....," he sighed. "There's nothing special about me."

"Ballisea seems to think otherwise," Ms. Sharp shrugged. "Though, it is worth highlighting that she is a living universe. Her sense of time is different than you might expect. By human count, it has been 1800 years. As far as she's concerned, mere minutes have passed since the last time she saw you. She is currently still searching for you; but, we both know how finicky she is. If you don't act fast you may miss your opportunity."

"Okay," Allister nodded. "What do I have to do?" Ms. Sharp began explaining it earlier; but, he was sidetracked by the amount of time that passed. Ms. Sharp handed him a red clipboard with a white form attached.

"I'd like to make you a Unique Soul to improve your general survivability. After the process, I will contact Ballisea to arrange a meeting to discuss the terms."

"Arrange a meeting..?" Allister asked. "Discuss terms?? I WANT to be with her. More than anything." Ms. Sharp nodded.

"Of course you do. And, you will. As long as she agrees to my terms."

"You..," Allister couldn't help but chuckle. He tried pushing the clipboard back at her. "You think you can bargain with Ballisea..??" Ms. Sharp smiled at him and pushed the clipboard back towards him.

"Only if she still loves you," she said. "Sign this quickly, please."
