THE MOMENT
“If this is what I can expect, I'm on board,” John nodded, then took another bite of pizza. He, and his wife, Majesty, sat in the kitchen discussing their future. They had a little one on the way. Majesty’s pregnancy had them both thrilled. She wasn’t very far along yet; but, they’d already picked out a name. The pizza box sat open between them with only two slices was missing. It had only just arrived and the two did not hesitate to attack it.
“I have to admit, this really hits the spot,” Majesty agreed.” I wasn't looking forward to cooking. Thank you,” she said.
“Don't thank me, thank QuantEx, “ he chuckled.
“Oh, no sir,” Majesty shook her head. “You know pineapple pizza has never been my thing; but, this is delicious,” she giggled. “I insist on blaming you completely for how much I’m enjoying this meal. If you’d ordered egg rolls, it would have been perfect.”
“Forgive me for not anticpating your pregnancy cravings better,” John grinned. “I’ll try to keep it in mind whenever I do actually order something,” he added. The doorbell rang and the two exchanged a puzzled look. John got up to answer it and he came back with a white plastic bag.
“Did you order more food?” Majesty asked. She recognized the package; but, he only shook his head. John set the bag down and opened the box to reveal three eggrolls.
“Well, that was unexpected…,” John chuckled.
“What?” Majesty asked. “If you didn’t order it, where did it come from?”
“The future,” John grinned. “You know, I was impressed when the pizza showed up as soon as we made a QuantEx Prime account; but, this was totally unexpected.”
“What is?” Majesty asked. “These came from one of us in the future, right? That’s what I assumed; what’s the unexpected part?”
“This time I asked the delivery person if they left a name…,” he said. John walked over and put his arm around his wife’s shoulder and reached down to her belly with his other hand. “The food’s from our daughter, Royalty.”
