THE MOMENT

"Excuse me," Ozone called the waiter as he passed by.

"Yes Sir, how can I help you?" the waiter asked. Ozone looked up at the teenager from his seated position and his eyes narrowed as if to say, 'You're really asking?' He was seated on the equivalent of a toddler's stool with his knees up almost to his head. Ozone was a large man even in a normal chair; but, in the child's seat, he looked almost comical.

"There's a problem with my seat...," Ozone said through his teeth. It wasn't the waiter's fault he wasn't observant and Ozone tried to keep his anger in check.

"Oh," the teen said with a nod. "That's probably a glitch." The teen pulled his node out and spoke to it.

"Helios!" he said. A golden, faceless man in a red suit appeared on his screen.

"What?" Helios asked. "Make it fast, I've got a lot going on." The waiter turned the node so that it was facing Ozone. "He doesn't fit in his chair," the teen said.

"He's not logged in," Helios replied in an instant. "I can't assist guests that aren't logged into the AlterNet."

"There you go," the waiter nodded at Ozone and Helios disappeared from the screen.

"Oh..," Ozone sighed. As a general rule, he preferred not to log in. He stood up and held his node out. "...well this blows," he said. After he spoke his password, a flash of golden light came out of the node. Nothing about his external appearance changed after he logged in; Ozone made sure his character looked like him as much as possible. But, when he looked behind him to sit down, he found the chair was more accomodating to his frame. "Thanks," he nodded at the waiter and sat down.
