THE MOMENT
"It's a wedding, isn't it!?" Ark raised his voice at the green-haired woman. But, he seemed to remember who she was at the last minute and calmed down. Glory was just a Zero; but, for some reason, she was everyone's favorite Zero. More than half the guests would rip him apart for looking at her the wrong way. Luckily, no one heard his minor outburst. For her part, Glory remained professional and courteous.
"It is, but that's not being served today," she replied with a nod. Ark glanced at the row of caterers on each side of Glory's table. Since most of the guests had some sort of dietary restrictions, Melody put the full weight of Sharp Development's resources behind her plans. She brought in a half dozen different caterers, each with a different menu.
"So, my choices at this wedding amount to little more than fast food?" he asked. He kept his voice low; but, the annoyance wasn't hidden at all. Gloria shrugged.
"Fine, I'll take a slice of pepperoni...," he gestured at one of the full-sized pies at her table. Gloria reached for a slice but he stopped her.
"Wait. Can I custom order a pizza?" he asked. Gloria nodded; but, then she paused.
"Though, only with the ingredients I have available," she said. She had an idea what he was going to ask for. "Melody wants to avoid cross-contamination as much as possible."
"Fine...," Ark sighed again. He took a bite once he received the plate; but, he spit out the half-chewed wad on the floor.
"...blech," he said. "It's so bland." Gloria nodded, almost apologetically.
"Sorry, not all the vampires here are Unique," she said. "No garlic either." Ark closed his eyes to let the annoyance run through him. Then he took a breath and set down the bitten slice. He turned around and walked away shaking his head.
"...worst wedding I've ever been to...," he mumbled. "...I can't believe they're not even serving any unicorn."
